PARTICIPANTS MUST

Live in Northern Navajo Agency or Fort Defiance Agency
-
Self-identify as Navajo
-
Be 18 years or older
NOT
-
Pregnant
-
Used oral or IV antibiotics in the last 3 months
-
Using proton pump inhibitors (such as Omeprazole, Lansoprazole, Dexlansoprazole, Esomeprazole, Pantoprazole, Raberprazole, IIaprazole), which is medicine that works to treat heart burn or sore in the stomach (ulcer)
-
Received Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) treatment now or in the last 3 months
-
Diagnosed with stomach cancer or undergoing any cancer treatment

OR
2. Calling the Principal Investigator at (206) 313-0273 from 8am – 5pm MST, Monday through Saturday.
Participating in the Navajo ABID Study involves:

Reading the Consent Form

Providing verbal consent by phone

Completing our two study questionnaires
-
Providing a stool sample

PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A GIFT CARD
Study participants will receive a $50 gift card for their time. Your participation in this study is voluntary. You can withdraw your participation at any time.
